CAMP INFORMATION
CAMPER CHECK-IN AND PICK-UP: Camp check-in is from 11:30 am-1:00 pm on opening day for Young Explorers (lunch will be served to campers at 1:00 pm) and 4:00-6:00 pm on opening day for all other camps. ALL CAMPERS MUST BE PICKED UP AT 10:00 AM ON THE CLOSING DAY. If you need to pick up your camper before 10:00 AM on closing day, please call the camp office at 812-834-5159 or inform camp staff at check-in.
PACKING SUGGESTIONS: Bring old comfy clothing; 2 pairs of closed-toe shoes; toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrush, comb, soap, shampoo, etc); washcloth & 2 towels; flashlight; bedding (sleeping bag or sheet & blanket, pillow); Bible, journal or notebook, pencil/pen; sunscreen & bug spray; bathing suit (if 2-piece bring shirt to wear over it); if you bring snacks (no nut products please!) also bring TIGHTLY-SEALING CONTAINERS to store them in! Leave at home any electronics, including CELL PHONES, tablets, radios, DVD players, video games, etc.; any knives, firearms, or other weapons; fireworks; matches; alcohol, tobacco products; illegal drugs or drugs not prescribed to you; flip flops and clothes in violation of our dress code policy.
CAMPER MAIL: Please address all mail to campers in care of Camp Challenge at 8914 US HWY 50 E, Bedford, IN 47421. Mail will NOT be distributed the final day of camp. You may also e-mail campers at [email protected]; please put your camper’s name in the subject line. IN CASE OF EMERGENCY ONLY, the camp phone number is (812) 834-5159.
CLOTHING: Please only bring items that are easily replaced as they could become lost, stained or damaged. Tops must have at least 1″ straps and be long enough to cover the stomach even when arms are raised. Pants may not be low cut, hip huggers, short-shorts, or hang below the hips. No exposed undergarments. Swimsuits must be one piece. If you only have a two-piece suit, bring a shirt to wear over the suit. Campers must wear shirts at all times except at the pool.
CANTEEN: Our camp store, Canteen, will be open 1-2 times per day during camp. Snacks and drinks cost $.50-$1.50 per item; souvenirs range from $.50-$25.00. Campers open a Canteen account at check-in (cash, check, or card are accepted) and purchases will be debited from their account by Canteen staff. Campers will be given the option to donate Canteen funds that remain unused by the end of camp to Camp Challenge. Donates from canteen will be designated for activites and games.
DIETARY NEEDS: At this time, we can accommodate gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, or medically-necessary nutritional restrictions due to allergy or disease. If your camper has specific dietary needs, please note this information on the registration form and contact the camp office to discuss menu options with our food service manager.
MEDICATIONS: All medications must be in original containers and administered under camp health staff supervision. No medications or over-the-counter drugs are allowed in the cabins except for rescue inhalers and epi-pens.
PHOTOGRAPHY: Camp Challenge staff takes pictures each week during camp for campers and their families and to use promotionally at the Camp’s discretion including, but not limited to, video presentations, newsletters, social media, and www.gocampchallenge.com. By registering your child for camp, you give permission for Camp Challenge to use photos of your child for these purposes.
VANDALISM: Parents may be charged an additional fee if their campers intentionally damage or vandalize Camp property.
VISITORS: For protection of our campers, WE DO NOT PERMIT VISITORS DURING CAMP.
CANCELLATIONS: Requests for refunds less a $25 cancellation fee will be considered if Camp Challenge is notified of cancellation prior to the close of session registration. Without notification, no refunds will be issued.
EXPULSION: Any camper that is caught with any of the following items at Camp Challenge will be expelled: alcoholic beverages, tobacco or vaping products of any kind, illegal drugs, firearms, or fireworks.
